Shabazz Muhammad to UCLA

Big news out of Los Angeles last night. After hearing that Shabazz Muhammad was going to UCLA from a Bishop Gorman assistant coach, I checked with my sources inside the UCLA athletic department. They said that it was a "done deal" after he came out to visit in Westwood.

A Duke official had this to say, "We never felt good about him (Muhammad) from the beginning. Being so close to UCLA and with Ben Howland's reputation, everyone thought he was headed there."

Muhammad is expected to verbally committ in the next week.

Pac-12 Updates

The big update came a couple days ago out of Virginia and Los Angeles. Small Forward Jordan Adams committed to UCLA and is a huge get for Ben Howland and the Bruins. I spoke with sources inside the Georgia athletic department last night and they were stunned with the news. One assistant told me that they were 99% sure they would land Adams.

Center Landen Lucas out of Henderson, Nevada told me that Kentucky has expressed interest in him. Lucas has already made visits to Kansas, Stanford, California, Harvard, and Oregon State, and plans on visting Arizona and Arizona State. Sources out of Findlay Prep in Henderson said that Lucas had narrowed down his choices to UA, ASU, Oregon State, Stanford, and Harvard, but now that Kentucky is showing interest, the field is wide open. Check out 12PacRecruitScoop in the coming days for an update on the situation.

Oregon State continues to recruit hard in the Chicago area, as they are the only program to have offered guard Charles Harris.

In Class of 2013 news, Oregon State has expressed interest in guard Tyler Ennis out of Newark, New Jersey. Ennis said that the Beavers were one of three schools to call him at 12:00 AM on June 15th, the first time that coaches can contact recruits.

That's it for now. I'll be at the Corona del Mar tournament all day tomorrow and will report on any rumors or tidbits I hear.

Back to Work

Hey Everyone,

After a brief retirement, I have decided to return to the blogging and social networking scene. A lot of you followed me the last few years on my old website and twitter. After a long talk with my family I decided to take a break from all the tournaments and recruiting, but I just couldn't stay away.

This will be just like the old site, with tournament recaps and updates on recruits headed to the Pac-10 (Whoops, I guess it's the Pac-12 now!). Here's a list of the tournaments I will be headed to this summer:

Nike Skills Camps (June 23- July 7)
Corona del Mar Invitational (June 24th-26th)
Nike Global Challenge (Aug 7-9)

... and many more.

I'm looking forward to getting back to work and thanks for following me at my new twitter @ChanningBernard. Finally, look out for some rumors and small tidbits in the coming days. Big news coming down the left coast pipes.
